Wedding Attire
At one point in all our lives we will attend a wedding as a guest, and hopefully to one of our own. If you are invited to a wedding for the first time, you may be wondering what is appropriate to wear. Here are a few tips on how to decide on the perfect outfit.
- If you’re not looking to buy something new, stick to your little black dress. It is not a taboo to wear black to a wedding, just lighten it up with some colorful jewelry or a fun pair of heels. In terms of women’s clothes, the little black dress is the most versatile!
- It’s obvious you shouldn’t wear white, but if you’re looking for something colorful, pretty much anything goes. Try to avoid a dress in a similar color to that of the bridesmaids and decor, as you don’t want to blend in where you don’t belong.
- Determine the mood of the wedding, are the bride and groom traditionally formal? Is the venue casual and relaxed? This way you can figure out how dressy, or how casual you can dress. If it’s on the beach, then you know its more laid back and a pair of flip flops won’t be frowned upon. Also assess the weather, it’s a good idea to bring a shawl or wrap just in case it is cold but not jacket worthy.
