The Gio Goi Story
Gio Goi is music meets fashion. With roots in the ‘80s rave and band scene, Gio Goi has grown from an outfit selling clothes at clubs and rave Venues in Manchester, UK to a respected brand with three store locations across the UK. Founded in 1988, the brand had to end production following a legal battle with designer Giorgio Armani over the use of the word ‘Gio’. It was later revived in 2005 and has since been a popular choice with famous musicians that include Rihanna, Pete Doherty, Plan B and Deadmau5, to name a few. Gio Goi opened its first store in Aberdeen in 2010, followed by two more in Glasgow and Manchester. Each store has been launched with performances by popular bands like Plan B and The Subways.
Apart from clothing, the brand also sells accessories that include bags, watches, scarves, belts, hats and underwear. One of the biggest sponsors of Cream at Amnesia, an award-winning clubbing experience in Ibiza, Spain, Gio Goi plays host to some of the best DJs in the world including Calvin Harris, Deadmau5, Tiesto, Laidback Luke and Paul Van Dyk. To mark 21 years of the brand, Gio Goi launched a music album titled 21 in July 2010, featuring popular rave and techno sounds mixed by DJs Graeme Park and Mark Knight.
