Bargain Hunters
As mid-season discounts and year-round price cuts have taken focus from the January sale in this country, New York, Milan and Paris are still great fashion shopping destinations. In Paris, the sales are not as important as they are in London. People sleep outside Harrods all night for instance, but no french person would do that. The French take time to examine things and don’t rush around for bargains.
In Milan there are three high fashion areas from which to choose. Gucci, Dolce e Gabbana and Vernice are just a few to be found in the expensive boutiques of the Golden Triangle. And the Brera area for bargain hunting for outlet stores and Church’s shoes loved by Italians for their English men’s fashion. New York offers a thrilling exchange rate and is knows as shopping heaven with winter sales starting on November 28. To get value for your money try mid-market labels like Theory which replaced Joseph, the best-cut women’s trousers and found everywhere like Bloomingdales, Barneys and Saks. You pay about two-thirds of London’s prices due to the current exchange rate with another thirty percent during the sale.
